In 1989, I had the opportunity to lead a seminar at the Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization in Manila, Philippines. Christian leaders and missionaries from around the world gathered for the historic conference. One of the great joys that I experienced was meeting Christians from different cultures, nations, races, and languages.
After my seminar, a number of leaders were asking if I would come to their countries and preach. But I noticed a lady at the edge of the group who was waiting quietly and patiently. When everyone left, the lady stepped forward and asked, “Are you the same Sammy Tippit that was arrested in Chicago in 1970?”
“Yes,” I said. But I wondered who she was and how she knew about that incident. I had not mentioned that experience in my seminar. In 1970, a friend and I had been witnessing to people about Christ in a nightclub district in Chicago. The clubs normally closed at 4:00 a.m. But as we shared Christ, God began to move. People came under conviction of their sin and would not go into the clubs. So they began closing early.
Nightclub owners had policemen arrest us. We later went to court, and the City of Chicago admitted to false arrest and dropped the charges.
I asked the lady, “How did you know about my arrest in Chicago?”
“I used to be a go-go dancer in one of the clubs,” she said. “One night as I was walking down the street, you gave me a gospel tract. I even went to hear you preach once. Later I gave my heart to Christ. Now I am married, my husband and I are missionaries, and we’re attending the conference.” She smiled. “I’ve prayed many times, asking God to let me meet you again and say ‘thank-you.’ Then I saw your name on the program. I just wanted to come, introduce myself, and say thanks for telling me about Jesus.” Then she walked away.
Dumbfounded, I just stood there. After collecting my composure I found a quiet place to pour my heart out to God. I consider that one of the great moments of my life.
Jesus said that He chose us to go and bear fruit — and that our fruit should remain. The greatest joy that you and I will have in eternity is when we meet someone who came to Christ because of our witness. Have you told someone about Jesus lately?

 John : Chapter 15
9)  “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10)  If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11)  I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12)  My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13)  Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14)  You are my friends if you do what I command. 15)  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16)  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17)  This is my command: Love each other. Book of the Month

Sammy Tippit told his fiancée, “I can’t promise we’ll be rich, but life won’t be boring.”
Sammy had no idea what an understatement that would become. Beginning in the bars of Baton Rouge and the nightclubs of Chicago, Tippit has shared the news of life-changing faith in Christ all over the world – including in the middle of a revolution in Romania, the aftermath of genocide in Rwanda, and war in Burundi and the Congo.
Sammy’s lifelong adventure has come at a great price. He’s been cursed, threatened, arrested, deported, and blacklisted. He’s also been personally broken, ravaged with illness, and devastated by grief.
Yet he continues to preach to in stadiums, in open fields, and via satellite technology to hundreds of thousands around the globe.  For all other books…
