I would like to introduce you a friend named Vladimir. When I first met him, he was a relatively new Christian with a deep love for God and a great love for people. For me, Vladimir’s compassion for people is a continual challenge. He shares the love of Jesus with everyone he meets. He had trained a group of young people in Kishinev, Moldova, to preach the gospel at the training center in the center of town.
Some time later, his 37-year-old wife, Natasha, died. She loved God with her whole heart. The next January I went with Vladimir to Siberia to preach the gospel in cities that have never heard the good news of God’s love. I asked Vladimir how he was doing. He said, “Sammy, it’s really been tough, especially during the Christmas season. Sometimes the loneliness is almost unbearable. The only thing that I can do is to draw near to God. But God’s love comforts me.”
That same love motivates Vladimir to share the gospel with everyone he meets. While flying from one Siberian city to another, Vladimir witnessed to everyone on the plane of the love of our Savior. The stewardess was seated right behind us, and he told her the great gospel story. He also invited her to our evangelistic meetings in the city to which we were traveling.
I preached in a Siberian town the next evening. Many gave their hearts to Christ. After the service was over, Vladimir brought to me a lady who had come to Christ that night. When I saw her, I realized she was the stewardess from our flight. We rejoiced together over what God had done.
Later that night I lay in bed, thinking about Vladimir. No matter how many difficulties he faces, he can’t get over the love of Jesus. He’s compelled to share that love. That’s what revival is — pure and simple. It’s simply drawing near to God and walking in His love. No matter what difficulty comes your way, it’s walking in the shadow of the cross and telling everyone of His great love for all.
By the way, during your times of trials, have you drawn near to the cross — or walked away from it?

 2 Corinthians : Chapter 1
5)  For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6)  If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7)  And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

Book of the Month

Sammy Tippit told his fiancée, “I can’t promise we’ll be rich, but life won’t be boring.”
Sammy had no idea what an understatement that would become. Beginning in the bars of Baton Rouge and the nightclubs of Chicago, Tippit has shared the news of life-changing faith in Christ all over the world – including in the middle of a revolution in Romania, the aftermath of genocide in Rwanda, and war in Burundi and the Congo.
Sammy’s lifelong adventure has come at a great price. He’s been cursed, threatened, arrested, deported, and blacklisted. He’s also been personally broken, ravaged with illness, and devastated by grief.
Yet he continues to preach to in stadiums, in open fields, and via satellite technology to hundreds of thousands around the globe.  For all other books…
